Linn - Rachel Mason Cockefair

– Rachel F. LINN twin daughter of William D. and Nancy A. Mason was born on a farm one mile east of Crawfordsville June 5, 1860 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy M. Rosen March 19, 1932, having attained the age of 71 years 9 months 14 days. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Cockefair March 9, 1880 and to this union was born one son, William. She was again married to John B. Linn on Aug 12, 1891. To this union two children were born; Floyd and Cora. She was a member of the Mace Methodist Church. She leaves to mourn 3 children; William F. Cockefair of Villa Park, Il; Floyd A. Linn of Harvey, Ill and Cora M. Rosen of Near Whitesville; two brothers, Thomas Mason of Crawfordsville; Frank Mason of Browns Valley and two sisters, Mrs. William White of near Crawfordsville and Mrs. Church Rush of near Yountsville 10 grandchildren and 5 step children, Homer and Herman Linn of Chicago; Mort Linn of Chicago; Mrs. Ernest Patterson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Marion hart of Little Rock AK besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Mace ME Church Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. SG Smith of Ladoga. A quartet composed of Mrs. Ditha Myers and Mrs. Will Wise, Mrs. Joe Patterson and Mrs. Wallace Fletcher sang The Old Rugged Cross, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere, Nearer my God To Thee, accompanied by Mrs. OC Edward at piano. Pall bearers and flower bearers were nieces and nephews of the deceased. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. -- typed by kbz
